If you want to see the actual town of Le Mans off-season is the best time to visit. We were there to see friends, but the center city mostly closed down after 9.30pm. We found an inevitable Irish bar that was still open. It was filled with rowdy youngsters but they were perfectly pleasant to us fogies.
