Always remember, life is not measured by
the number of breaths we take, but by those
moments that take our breath away.
— George Carlin

Who

I am an American artist who has escaped to Brittany, France. I paint cityscapes and landscapes as I travel to beautiful and interesting locations.

What

My fantasy has become a reality. Like many Americans, France – and especially Paris – is my American dream. We live in Brittany, where the living is easy and all of Europe is a car/train/bus ride away. When I was a kid and things got bad I would run away. These days I run away to find out how good life can get. My paintings aim to capture that feeling of fantasy becoming an every day reality.

Where

Our tiny village is in the centre of Brittany. This is a rural farming area. The surrounding countryside is spectacular, particularly when the sun shines. Europe and the British Isles are a short trip away. Lately we have been making short, off-season trips to local seaside villages. The unexpected balmy weather has made it feel like summer. But my favorite place to visit is Paris, where I go as often as possible.
