On a visit to Belfast we visited my husband's old stomping ground in the heart of the city. The Morning Star, originally opened in 1810, is now a trendy, farm-to-table pub and restaurant. We stopped by for a pre-lunch drink. I can’t really handle beer any more – being a delicate old lady – but I can manage an occasional Guinness. The Morning Star is tucked away on a side street and is a welcoming place. This painting depicts a quiet moment leading up to lunchtime before the office workers are let loose. Very pleasant.
