Three Roads
I began this painting as a pretty, cobbled street scene in Saint Pol de Vence in Southern France. After a while it took on a new meaning. For the viewer you have three choices. The stairway to the seemingly abandoned house on a ricketty stairway? To the hot guy with the motorcycle? Or to the blue cobbled street that looks almost like a river? It became a metaphor for memory, desire, and adventure. Or something like that. What do you think? I’m still figuring it out.
