Early in the morning in the streets below Sacre Coeur the artists gather for a gossip and a petit noir. Soon they will be hard at work drawing portraits of tourists. Some gather in the Place du Tertre, and others roam around hustling for work. A generally friendly bunch, they often wear berets or wide brimmed hats.
